Introduction
This primarily renovation-based project focused on transforming two adjacent sitting areas by enhancing their spatial qualities and natural light while maintaining budget-conscious design solutions. In the sunroom, the removal of existing stairs expanded the space, allowing for more flexible seating arrangements. The introduction of taller and high transom windows maximized natural light, complemented by a bright contrast of white walls and warm wood tones. A central fireplace, aligned with the room’s color palette, serves as an inviting focal point.
Opposite the sunroom, the addition of a dormer with taller windows and the removal of wood paneling created a lighter, airier atmosphere. This area was designed to accommodate a larger seating arrangement around a projection screen, wet bar, and built-in storage—perfect for entertaining and offering a cozy yet distinct contrast to the sunroom.
Exterior updates included new siding, windows, and architectural features such as a front portico, cupola, and brackets, alongside opening up the porch. These simple yet impactful changes provided a refreshed and welcoming façade without exceeding budget constraints.
